Spring 2008 HSR Membership Time Please take a couple of minutes to update, renew or join as a member of the Historical Society of the Rockaways. Whether you wish to be an active participant or just to add you name to the prestigious list of members in support of our history, we welcome you!! Nominations for HSR Officers Now Open The Nominating Committee, Lynda de Victoria, David Lang and John Dunado are currently compiling a list of candidates for the following eight HSR Offices for the 2008-2009 term: President A proposed slate of Officers will be presented at the May 5th regular Membership Meeting being held at the Rockaway Twp. Library at 7:30 pm. Elections for the Officers will be voted upon at the Annual Business Meeting on June 2nd at The Ford-Faesch House at 7:30 pm. Mail-in ballots will be made available in the June Newsletter being sent out in mid-May. The slate will also be posted on our website. Any Historical Society of the Rockaways member in good standing is eligible to be an Officer and we encourage all members to assist in the running of our group where possible. Anyone who would like to run for any of the Offices posted above or would be interested in finding out more information regarding these positions should contact either Lynda (l.devictoria@historic-rockaways.org), David (d.lang@historic-rockaways.org), or John (j.dunado@historic-rockaways.org) ASAP and prior to the May 5th meeting. |

Mission Statement
To distribute historical information to educational and public institutions, to promote community service projects beneficial to all citizens. To preserve historical sites, documents, and for that purpose to conduct historical research to promote interest and civic pride in local history, to seek and obtain financial assistance from various sources to aid in the implementation of these objectives. Incorporated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit on September 12, 1974 |
